Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
The massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas has drawn people for thousands of years. But there’s more to Enchanted Rock than just the dome. Hike, climb, have a picnic, watch birds, and see wildlife. Leashed dogs are permitted on the Loop Trail and the picnic areas.
Fredericksburg Main Street
Stroll historic downtown Fredericksburg for delightful shops, restaurants, and wineries lining both sides of this charming town center. Main Street is a haven for shoppers with something for everyone…apparel, housewares, souvenirs, cowboy hats, and an amazing spicy BBQ.
Wildseed Farms
Bring your camera and see 200 acres of wildflowers just 7 miles east of Fredericksburg. The nation’s largest wildflower farm offers different flowers in every season. The shops at Wildseed Farms are brimming with delightful gifts for home and garden.
Bat Watching at Old Tunnel State Park
The smallest state park in Texas features an historical railroad tunnel that is home to approximately 2 to 3 million bats. Millions of bats come flapping out of the tunnel at sunset from May through October. Bring binoculars – Wow!
Willow City Loop
See an amazing abundance of wildflowers in April. If you time it right, this little 13-mile loop is just heaven – carpets of wildflowers in reds, whites, blues, and yellows on all sides in the spring, alongside quaint little ranches and creeks. It’s absolutely lovely!
Pioneer Museum
Take yourself on a 3.5-acre tour of scenic grounds and glimpse the daily lives of German pioneers in Texas Hill Country. See the one-room schoolhouse, log cabin, Sunday house, blacksmith shop, bath house, barn, and smokehouse. Each building helps to tell the story of these early immigrants.
Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park
The crown jewel of Fredericksburg’s recreational parks is the 330-acre Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park. Swimming pool, fishing in Live Oak Creek, nature trails, tennis courts, basketball, playgrounds, and every sport you can think of.
Lady Bird Golf Course
Beautiful public golf course has been pleasing folks for over 50 years. Challenging for golfers of all skill levels, the ‘Lady Bird’ offers lessons, pro shop, clubhouse, dining at the Red Bird Grill, and 18 holes of manicured greens and fairways.
Texas Wine Collective
There are more than 50 wine producers in Fredericksburg. Visit Brennan Vineyards, Lost Oak Winery, and McPherson Cellars to experience 3 of them at once at the Texas Wine Collective, an innovative estate with a tasting room, live events, and wine club.
